Yes, the basic application is and will remain free.

There is also a premium tier, which adds:

• Processing more events from your calendar, for improved recommendations
• Soon, more real-life activity options, including current events
• That warm feeling you get when you help well intended dreamers change things

We're still expanding the list of ideas for premium features — your feedback is welcome.

The app imports your contact list and address book events, and draws conclusions about what relationships you have with them.

Your data is only processed locally on your device. Anonymized versions of event descriptions are sent to the Bekodu servers and to AI models for activity recommendations. As no private data leaves your device, there is no risk of it being captured or hacked.

It depends. If you have a well maintained address book, and if you like to keep your activities in your calendar, you will get better recommendations.

The application also learns from your input — you can choose to get more or fewer activity recommendations for each contact.

No. We are very focused on privacy and do everything to keep your data safe.

• We don't need and don't want your data outside your device.
• Private data is precious. It's a huge responsibility, and we don't want it.
• We don't even ask you to create an account. Everything lives on your device.

Only if you signed up for the optional updates or newsletter.

Your contacts and events

Not collected. Only anonymized versions of event descriptions are sent to the Bekodu servers and to AI models for activity recommendations.

Your current location

Received by the Bekodu servers, but not stored. A generic latitude-longitude, not associated with you, is sent to Google Maps services to get precise venue recommendations.

Your IP address

Received by the Bekodu servers, but not stored. Received and stored for 7 days by DataDog for analytical and customer support use. Not shared with other third-party services.

Your meetup invitation text

Not collected. Invitation text stays in the app, and you can choose to share it with your contacts using your phone's applications.

Meetup recommendations

Not collected. These remain on your device only.

Application activity

The generic name of the pages and buttons you click in the application is collected by DataDog for analytical and customer support use. This data is not connected to your name or any other personal data.

You can. But there is no account. If you get a new phone, or use multiple phones, each one is a separate app instance and you always start fresh. This is by design, to ensure maximal privacy and data security.

We plan to let you use your existing Apple or Google cloud accounts to sync the data, without it reaching our servers. If you're interested in this feature, let us know using the Feedback option in the app.

Yes. We store your data only on your device, and there are no server-side accounts. This is by design.

We collect and process data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws.

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your data at any time. You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, where applicable. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at privacy@bekodu.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that we have violated your data protection rights.

We use various technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.
